I couldn’t resist the chance of making a black and white image of dark horses against the light colored Sandhills and a growing thunderstorm in the sky, the horses’ tails perfectly matched as the plains wind played with them.

    1. Thanks! I tell my photography students that a litmus for the power of a photo is how it looks in a print. For me, this one always delivers.

      1. That’s a good rule of thumb.

        Mine, when it comes to landscapes, is: if it makes me want to visit that region, it’s a good one. I don’t shoot a lot of landscapes (not my niche although I’m practicing), but I enjoy looking at others’ pictures. Your pictures make me want to check out Nebraska.
